Gallery KITAI was founded in 1998 in Tokyo, and is dealing Japanese contemporary Sumi (Japanese ink in Japanese) art as “Sumi_ism” and also the other Japanese contemporary arts. The background of our artworks are based on Japanese art history basically and their representations are very contemporary. We have cooperated with Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum for their exhibition Ueno Artist Project 2018 “Contemporary SHO—See, Know and Feel Today’s Calligraphy” - Represented artists - Sogen Chiba, Reiko Tsunashima, Mizuho Koyama, Sanmu Kunisada, Michiyoshi Deguchi, Kazu Shimura, Sayumi Kudo, Chiko Takei, Fumie Onuki, Kunio Abe, Masaki Matsushita, Kenji Ichikawa, Hiroko Oda, and others.
