Gallery 1202

Gallery 1202 is a contemporary art gallery in the south San Francisco Bay Area representing international and U.S. based artists, both mid-career and emerging. We primarily focus on the works of female/women artists that deal with motherhood/birth, ideals of femininity, challenging patriarchy and documenting other social phenomenon. In addition, we promote alternative art mediums such as encaustic, collage, works on paper, embroidery, the use of textile or other materials labeled as "craft," so increase their visibility in the contemporary art scene.
